Melissa Geraghty

Dr. Melissa Geraghty, Psy.D. is a Licensed Clinical Health Psychologist. Her psychotherapeutic style is based on Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), which incorporates mindfulness, teaching coping skills, exposure based interventions, and assisting patients in living their values. Dr. Geraghty has worked in Outpatient, Inpatient, PHP, IOP, Residential, and Hospital Settings. Dr. Geraghty has an innovative, active style of therapy which involves patients learning about themselves through experiential exercises. She is described as compassionate, humorous, and unconditionally accepting of her patients.

Dr. Geraghty is an Inaugural Board Member for The Coalition for Headache and Migraine Patients (CHAMP). She is a past Board Member (2018-2021) of The National Association of Anorexia Nervosa and Associated Disorders (ANAD) and an Ambassador for the U.S. Pain Foundation. Dr. Geraghty has received recognition and awards for her clinical excellence and advocacy efforts in the chronic pain community. She also enjoys presenting workshops to healthcare professionals and the public at an international level.

Dr. Geraghty lives with chronic pain and multiple physical disabilities, including a rare neurological condition. She understands firsthand the difficulties that medical diagnoses bring to daily living. Dr. Geraghty was diagnosed with COVID-19 in early March 2020 and is experiencing Long-Haul COVID. She is able to provide support to individuals impacted by COVID-19 due to her years of personal and clinical experience with complex medical conditions, including Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME/CFS).
